A floral project

Shannon of West Sussex, England is currently studying fashion and clothing and is hoping to be going to university next year to study either fashion design or fashion photography. Her latest school project was inspired and based completely on the work I put here on this drifter blog. Her project had to be based around florals and so she created a project of a relationship between a couple from childhood through to old age. The final outcome were a range of textile prints. I enjoyed seeing the final outcome of her project and I hope you will too :)

BOLSO A CROCHET

Este es otro bolsito.El punto es zig-zag como el de las mantitas, es hilo muy finito pero queda muy lindo .Espero que les guste. Aquí el resto.

I've launched!

My friends, I am proud to say that my photography website has finally launched! I've been waiting months for the moment I could say this :) Sometimes I would just type in micaelahoo.com and pretend that an actual site came up. And now it's up and running and when I type in micaelahoo.com, something does come up!
I've launched!
(click on the photo to go to the site)

I couldn't have gotten my site up and running without the help of Christopher Hench, who designed the site for me. He is awesome, to say the least! He put up with my crazy antics and me asking him to fix minor things all the time (sorry about that, christopher!). Christopher is a photography student at Savannah College of Art and Design, so do send him some love and check out his work! He also designs websites, so if you need any help with a website/blog/whatever, I'm sure he'd be happy if you emailed him!

So go and check out my site because there's some photos on there that I haven't featured on the blog and there's some oldies as well that you probably forgot about. Also, I'm always looking for work, so if you have any opportunities for me, please send them my way :) Okay, self-promotion ramble over now! Have a great weekend all :)

GIVEAWAY: Rock Paper Vintage - CLOSED

Rock Paper Vintage giveaway on the blog
I was just thinking about how I haven't done a giveaway on the blog in a long time (can you believe it's been since october?!), but that all changed when Tiffany of Rock Paper Vintage and I got to talking and we decided to do a giveaway together. So there you go, I guess. Impeccable timing.

I met up with Tiffany when I was in NYC last month and did a shoot for her online shop too (some photos from that shoot are pictured above and i'll reveal the rest on my photography website when it launches tomorrow!). Tiffany is a darling to say the least! Despite walking right passed each other at our initial meet up, when we finally figured out who the other was, we clicked immediately. Our conversations ranged from blogging to photography to thrift stores in Brooklyn and so on.

Anyway, enough of my rambling! Now on to the good stuff: what you'll win: $100 gift certificate to spend on anything you want from Rock Paper Vintage.

3 WAYS TO ENTER:
  • Leave a comment on this post.
  • Get an extra entry if you tweet about the giveaway or mention it on your blog. Be sure to leave a 2nd comment saying you tweeted and/or featured it on your blog. (note: if you featured this giveaway on your blog AND tweeted, you get ONE comment for the tweet and ONE comment for the blog feature, making it a total of TWO extra ways to win.)

  • **Open to all readers, international included**

I will draw a winner Thursday, January 20th via random.org.

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED! THANK YOU ALL FOR ENTERING!

    Oh hey! I'm in print!

Well, kind of. I will be when I get the magazine I ordered in the mail. What is she talking about? A little while ago, Papercut Magazine asked if I would write an article for their January/February issue. Of course I said yes! Since it's been super cold this winter, I chose to write/show how I style my socks with boots and tights. So here's a bunch of self portraits I did with my feet! (my family may or may not have been weirded out when they saw me in my room with my tripod taking pictures of my feet in different positions and with various props. it's all been clarified now that the article is out!)
    My article for Papercut Magazine
I am really a fan of Papercut Magazine. They seem to have the perfect mix of both edgy fashion and down-to-earth vintage fashion.

To view the full January/February issue of Papercut Magazine, go here. (please note: print and ipad versions are coming soon; the proofing process has been delayed due to the recent blizzard weather)

Last week, I had a shoot with Jessica. I'd been eying her on Facebook for quite sometime (for photoshoot purposes) and to finally getting to work with her was amazing (not to mention she was a pleasure to work with too!) Definitely going to work with her some more in the future. For this shoot, I used all film (which i'm not used to at all, but it was fun to experiment).

If you haven't picked yourself up a copy of Boho Magazine, do so now! I've heard a bit about Boho in the past, but never paid much attention to it until I decided to buy it a few weeks ago. I was really impressed with their fashion editorial, Country Love, which seems like a photoshoot I would totally dream up in my head.
