My dears, have you seen the latest issue of N.E.E.T. Magazine? It features a new fashion series by Marie Zucker called Raspberry Thighs. Sort of has a less pretentious, more intimate 'let them eat cake' feel, no? And I lurrrve those glitter shoes!

The Dollkeeper

Remember when I blogged about a very exciting photo shoot I was doing last month and was super vague about it? Well, here it is! In February, I was commissioned by Jaclyn of Audrey Grace, a pop-up shop coming to NYC next week to do a photo shoot for her boutique. For the months leading up to the shoot, Jaclyn and I brainstormed up suitable concepts that fit the 'Audrey Grace' motif. We finally settled on the story of 'The Dollkeeper.' I am forever fascinated with exploring all facets of the life of dolls (see my other doll shoot here). In the story of 'The Dollkeeper,' Amy, the model plays the part of a doll who is held captive by Brad, the dollkeeper, who keeps her for his own selfish longing. So there is a bit of a melancholy undertone.

I had been dying to do a shoot at this location: Big Daddy's Antiques, which I scouted last year by happenstance, and voila! I finally did. Big Daddy's Antiques is pretty magical to say the least... sort of like an artist's paradise (which is actually a complete understatement. you really need to see it real life). I mean, they played Beatles music and let us take over their store for the entire day. Not to mention their name stems from a character named Big Daddy in Tennessee Williams' play 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.' Plus, they're just awesome in general for having so much pretty stuff all. in. one. place. Kudos to you, Big Daddy, for being so cool.

Sunday in film.

Sundays are probably my favorite day of the week. Saturdays seem all too rushed and chaotic most weeks. But Sundays for us are mainly pretty much spent lazing around the house. This Sunday, it was supposed to rain in the afternoon and on into night, which got me really excited because I love it when it rains at night (going to bed with the sound of rain hitting the roof = best thing ever). I had devised this nice, cozy day in my head (consisting of reading, board games, old movies, etc.) to go along with the rainy evening. Annnddd I just happened to capture the day in film :)

It ended up not raining, but what can you do, right? It was still a fun day nonetheless ♥ Do you love Sundays too?

As a side note, I forgot how much I love using analog cameras. I think my new goal is to use film more often :)

The butterfly wall

A few weeks ago, my mom and I moseyed around Chinatown (mainly to pick up some tea at blest tea). We got to Blest Tea before it opened and wandered into the shop next door (which i sadly don't remember the name of!) while we were waiting. The shop had a wall entirely covered with framed butterflies (i've never seen anything like it in chinatown), where I bought my framed butterfly here. Then, we finished up the day with some monster sandwiches at Working Girls' Cafe and a little dessert at California Golden Cookies. A truly good day indeed. I'm itching for another Chinatown outing with my mom soon.

It's a long weekend over here in the states. Which means two things: no school for me on Monday and no work for Dad on Monday. I love days when the whole family has off. I'm not sure how we're spending the day together, but I'm sure we'll come up with something fun, even if it means playing board games all day and then watching a movie on TV or something. I need a good little rest and relaxation. I haven't had time at all to start reading my new book (the book thief). Perhaps I'll do that tonight...

Regardless of if you have a long weekend or not, treat yourselves to a little somethin' fun. You DESERVE it :)

It was cold, winter morning

Sleepwalking

I showed you a sneak peak last week, so here is the rest... a simple little shoot I did at my house a few weeks ago with Brianna at Look Models SF. It was a wonderfully cozy rainy afternoon, and I was glad to be photographing inside instead of outside. We had plans to go outside, but it was just raining too hard. We'll have to save part two for a sunny day.
